Navy women’s lacrosse head coach Cindy Timchal (Haverford High, West Chester) has announced the program’s 13-member incoming Class of 2018.
Headlining Navy’s Class of 2018 is two-time US Lacrosse High School All-America First Team honoree Haley Fessenden. Fessenden earned All-America laurels in 2012 and 2013. Along with Fessenden, Martha Byrne also garnered First Team All-America honors in 2013. Kathleen Mills earned All-American Honorable Mention in 2012. Byrne, Mackenzie Orr and Suzelle Thomas earned US Lacrosse Academic All-America certificates in 2013, while Mills was honored in 2012.
The freshman class spans seven different states with eight student-athletes hailing from Maryland and one each from Alabama, California, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Virginia. The class contains two attackers, one attacker/midfielder, seven midfielders, two defenders and one goalkeeper.
Navy finished the 2014 season 14-3 and competed in the Patriot League Tournament for the seventh consecutive season.
