Rachel Daniels (Bear, Del/Delaware Military Academy) – Defense
Club Team: Delaware Tribe
As a 5-4 defender, Daniels was the first captain for the women’s lacrosse program at the Delaware Military Academy. There, Daniels also competed for the Seahawks cross country and track teams, establishing the academy record in the 400 Meter Hurdles and recently participating in the 2013-2014 Penn Relays. She is a two-time winner of the Seahawks Award for winter track.
Gillian Wixted (Bensalem, Pa./Arhcbishop Ryan) – Midfield
Club Team: Lansing Knights
Wixted was a two-sport student-athlete at Bensalem High School, where she competed for the Owls girls’ soccer (2012-2014) and lacrosse teams (2011-2014). A three-year starter for the girls’ lacrosse team, the 5-5 midfielder earned the team’s Most Dedicated Player award and All-Catholic League honors in 2014. She earned Academic Second Honors in 2013 and Academic First Honors in 2014.
Julia Galantich (Clinton Corners, N.Y./Millbrook) – Midfield
Club Team: Duchess Monarchs
Standing at 5-10, Galantich was a four-year midfield starter and a three-time Section 9 all-star (2012-2014) for Millbrook High School. A three-sport student-athlete, Galantich played varsity basketball while serving as a four-year captain (2011-2014) for the girls’ lacrosse team and a two-year captain (2013-2014) for the cross country team. She earned Academic High Honors Awards in each of her four years at Millbrook High School.
Allison Hare (Oswego, N.Y./Oswego) – Defense
Club Team: Oswego Lacrosse
A two-year starter and four-year high honors student-athlete at Oswego High School, Hare was an All-Section III Honorable Mention in her senior campaign. At 5-6, Hare is also a two-year starter for the Buccaneers soccer and bowling teams, earning All-Section III Second Team honors in soccer. She is also a member of Studio C Dance Academy.
Hunter Leckonby (Charleston, S.C./Academic Magnet) – Midfield
Club Team: Maryland United
Leckonby is a 5-7, two-year, midfield starter from Academic Magnet High School in Charleston, South Carolina. In an impressive senior campaign, Leckonby tied for first in the state for goals (76) while ranking third in ground balls (138) and third in draw controls (140). At season’s end she garnered an All-Lower State First Team selection, an All-State Second Team selection, the school’s Wendy’s Heisman Award, which since 1994 has honored well-rounded young men and women who excel in learning, performing, and leading in the class room, on the field, and in the community, and US Lacrosse’s 2014 Jackie Pitts Award which honors a “senior who truly honors the game of lacrosse, is invested in the development of the game in her community, is an exceptional player who continually strives to improve her game, and is an exemplary member of her team.” Leckonby also captained and started for the Raptors girls’ varsity basketball team and participated in the 2013 US Lacrosse National High School Tournament.
Erica McLaughlin (Magnolia, N.J./Paul VI) – Midfield
Club Team: South Jersey Devils
Another talented two-sport student-athlete, McLaughlin was a three-year starter for the girls’ lacrosse team and a four-year starter for the girls’ soccer team at Paul VI High School. The 5-4 midfielder earned an All-Olympic Conference selection in 2013 before repeating the honor in 2014 and paring it with a 2014 Girls’ Soccer Coach’s Award, a 2014 Girls’ Lacrosse Most Valuable Player (MVP) award, and Academic Second Honors.
Taryn Murphy (Hopewell Junction, N.Y./Arlington) – Attack
Club Team: Dutchess Monarchs
A Dutchess Monarchs teammate of Galantich, Murphy has garnered numerous accolades as a four-year starter for Arlington High School in Hopewell Junction, New York. Murphy earned the team’s Most Improved Award in her freshman season (2011), the 110% Award and a New York State Section One All-League Honorable Mention as a sophomore (2012), the team’s Coach’s Award and a second Section One All-League selection in her junior campaign (2013), and the Outstanding Senior Award and a third Section One All-League selection as a senior in 2014. Academically, the 5-5 attack was a four-year Honor Roll student who earned three Student of the Month Awards and received the Academic Honor Key in 2014.
Jaida Zabala (East Meadow, N.Y./ East Meadow) – Defense
Club Team: Long Island TOGZ
A four-year starter, Zabala served as a captain on the 2014 East Meadow High School Girls’ Lacrosse Team. At 5-4, she was a two-time All-Nassau County selection (2013 & 2014), a member of the National Honor Society, a member of the American Sign Language (ASL) Honor Society, and her class Vice President from 2010-2014.
