The 8th Annual Ricky Whelan Dukes Developmental Clinics continue for two more sessions on Sept. 28 and Oct. 5 from 4-6 p.m. at The Shipley School.
The clinics are an instructional series that leads to the final tryouts for the Duke’s Lacrosse Club. The final clinics will feature special guest speakers each day. On Sunday, Johns Hopkins coach Dave Pietramala will speak and on Oct. 5 Penn State assistant coach Peter Toner will speak.
Walkup registration will start at 3:15 pm. The clinics emphasize high intensity drills and skill sets to improve players’ reaction time and decision making in unsettled/settled transition pressure situations. Up tempo pace will be encouraged defensively and offensively from 1v1 situations to 2v1 and mandown/manup scenarios all the way up to 6v6 settled sets.
These sessions will give players preparation for the Dukes tryouts while improving lacrosse IQ and field sense. All participants must be US Lacrosse members and post current membership ID on player info sheet. Please have paperwork (see links below) and make checks out to: Jason Christmas. Walk-up registration is $90/session.
