Registration is open for Scoop Lax Boys’ Developmental Lacrosse Programs by The Shipley School.
The sessions will be held April 6, 13, 27 and May 4, 11, & 18 at the Lower School Turf Field at Shipley School. The program is directed and run by The Shipley School Boys’ Varsity Lacrosse Coach and Athletic Director Mark Duncan.
Ages: 4.5, 6 year olds
Times: 10 – 10:45 am
Program: Boys brand new to lacrosse will be taught the basic fundamentals of the game: scooping, cradling, throwing, catching and shooting using the plastic scoop sticks and balls. Lots of fun drills and games will keep them moving through high energy 45 minute sessions.
No stick or equipment needed.
Beginner Stick Skills
Ages: 6 – 8 Year Olds
Times: 11 am – 12 pm
Program: Beginner Stick Skills is for boys who have had minimum exposure to lacrosse. They will work in small group settings on the fundamental aspects of the game;. 3 v 3 play will be introduced as a fun way to learn game strategy. They will be taught using pinky balls and regulation sticks cut down to their size.
Please bring your own stick. No equipment needed.
