Philly men’s D1 college roundup: Rambo, Amato, Knarr, Hanzsche, Dreyer. Kennedy have big days

Matt Rambo (La Salle) score three goals and Niko Amato (La Salle) made eight saves to gain the win as host Maryland thumped UMBC, 14-3, in a men’s lacrosse game Saturday.

The Terps also got big defensive efforts from Goran Murray (Haverford School) and Casey Ikeda (Conestoga), who each had two GB and a CT. Kevin Forster (La Salle) scored once and Ryan Lehman (Garnet Valley) had a GB and a CT while Mike Bender (Emmaus) added a GB.

Georgetown 9, Navy 8, OT

Tyler Knarr (La Salle) won 12 of 19 face-offs for the Hoyas in their victory. TJ Hanzsche (Malvern Prep) scored three goals for the Mids.

Duke 14, Denver 10

Jordan Wolf (Lower Merion) had a goal and two assists and scooped three GB as the Blue Devils prevailed. Brian Dailey (Conestoga) added a GB and a CT and defenseman Jamie Ikeda (Conestoga) had a GB.

Bellarmine 10, Robert Morris 7

Eric Rankel (Downingtown West) had a goal, an assist, three GB and a CT and brother Tyler Rankel (Downingtown West) added two CT and a GB for RMU in the defeat.

Air Force 15, Furman 6

Keith Dreyer (Malvern Prep) had a goal, an assists and a GB and Alex Warden (Garnet Valley) added two GB for Air Force.

Johns Hopkins 15, Towson 8

Drew Kennedy (Malvern Prep) won 16 of 23 face-offs to lead the Blue Jays.

Max Siskind (Henderson) scored once for the Tigers.
