St. Andrews Episcopal School (MD) 2015 LSM Husam Shabazz has made a commitment to play Division III lacrosse at Widener University.

Husam Shabazz log:

Husam Shabazz

High School: St. Andrews Episcopal School, MD

Graduation Year: 2015

Position: LSM

College Choice: Widener University

Club Affiliation: Performance Lacrosse

Lacrosse Honors: DC UA All-American top 44 (2014), UNC Team Camp (2013-2014), UA UnCommited Games (2014), MD Terp Classic, Warrior Fall Ball

What will you major in/study? International Business

Why did you choose Widener? “I chose Widener because I feel like it is a good academic fit for me. The major I intend to pursue has a very reputable academic staff.

“I also feel as if Coach (Brendan) Dawson and Widener lacrosse has, and recruits players with the talent, to make Widener University a contender for a NCAA championship in the years to come.

“I like Coach Dawson and his coaching style and feel I can prosper as an athlete with him as my coach.”

Outlook for 2015 HS season? “My outlook for our team this year is that we become more mentally focused on our success on the field. We have a lot of younger and dedicated kids who are willing to work in the off-season for the successes to come in-season. I just hope our hard work in the off-season correlates with the results in our games.”

Thank You: “I would like to thank my family, my coaches, and friends who have helped me to be a better player and a better person.”
