JD Carroll

High School: West Chester East

Graduation Year: 2017

Position: Defense

College Choice: University Of Michigan

Club Affiliations: Philadelphia Freedom, Man Up

Lacrosse Honors: 2nd Team All-League Ches-Mont (freshman)

What will you major in/study? Undecided

Why did you choose Michigan? “I chose to spend my college career at the University of Michigan because of a few things. First, Coach (John) Paul told me something I will never forget, and that was ‘If I decide to attend Michigan, it will open doors for the rest of my life.’ I visited the University in December 2013. I stayed there for a few days, but I instantly fell in love with the campus, the players, the coaches, and the environment within the first day there. The coaches at Michigan are remarkable and we instantly became friends. Michigan is going to give me opportunities that I can’t even fathom, and I am looking forward to accomplishing them.”

Outlook for your High School team? “The West Chester East Vikings lacrosse team is a growing athletic program that has the potential to be very successful. We have an amazing coaching staff and a lot of very talented young players that will affect our game in the near future.”

Thank You: “I would first like to thank my family. I am blessed to have my parents always supporting me, caring for me, and allowing me to pursue my dream which is to play lacrosse for and attend college at Michigan. I would then like to thank all of my teammates for always pushing me to work hard and play smart on and off the lacrosse field.

“I then want to thank the coaches at Michigan for allowing me to live my dream, and play lacrosse for the amazing University. And the man that made it all happen, my High School Coach Jim Schorn. He is not just a coach, he is an amazing guy, mentor, and friend. He has helped me throughout the whole recruiting process and has given me the chance of a lifetime at such a young age. You have taught me the game and I am so thankful for that. You also said something that I will never forget, and it was “The wins and losses will come and go, but the people you play the game with, is what you will remember forever.”
