Salesianum School (DE) 2017 midfielder Michael Drake has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at the University of Notre Dame.

Michael Drake log:

Michael Drake
Michael Drake

High School: Salesianum School

Graduation Year: 2017

Position: Midfield

College Choice: University of Notre Dame (ConnectLAX college profile)

Club Affiliations: Dukes LC, Big 4

Major lacrosse honors, All-Star teams, Camps, Showcases: 2nd team all state as a freshman (only freshman to make an all state team).

Academic honors: first honors all of freshman year

What will you major in/study? Undecided

Why did you choose the school? “I chose the Univ. of Notre Dame because I believe it gives me the best place to achieve all of my goals athletically, academically and socially. Notre Dame is one of the finest institutions in the world and I am truly blessed Coach (Kevin) Corrigan and Coach (Gerry) Byrne have given me this opportunity.”

Thoughts on this past HS lacrosse season/team’s outlook for next season? “Salesianum had a great season. Wwe went 16-2 and were nationally ranked most of the year. Unfortunately, our second loss came in the Delaware state championship game. However, we have a great senior class returning and a lot of young talent coming back next season. Hopefully we will be poised to make another title run and win the state championship in 2015.”

Other comments: “I would first like to thank my family. Without all of the little things you guys do for me none of this would be possible. Also, I would like to thank the person that taught me how to play this game: Kevin Green. Thank you for teaching me how to play this game the right way; without you I would not be where I am today. Thank you to my Salesianum coaches, Healy and Plews. Thank you for all you taught me the past year and I am looking forward to three more great ones! And lastly, my Dukes coaches, Helm, Christmas, Fallon, McKinney and Gregg. Thank you for taking my game to the next level and thanks for all all of your support and guidance throughout the process.”

Other schools considered? Duke, UPenn and Maryland
