Malvern Prep 2017 midfielder Michael Fay has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at the University of Notre Dame.

Michael Fay log:

Michael Fay
Michael Fay

High School: Malvern Prep

Graduation Year: 2017

Position: Midfield

College Choice: University of Notre Dame

Club Affiliation: Dukes LC

Lacrosse Honors: “10 Who Impressed” at Nike Blue Chip 2013, Varsity letter for 2014 lacrosse season

Academic Honors: First Honors entire freshman year, 2013 American Legion Award

What will you major in/study? Business/Finance

Why did you choose Notre Dame? “I chose Notre Dame because of it’s great balance between academics, athletics, and social life. You can get a great education and compete with the best in the game, while still having the experience of attending a great university. I believe coach (Kevin) Corrigan’s values are essential to the development of a college student- athlete, and I couldn’t be more confident and happy with the decision I made.”

Thoughts on this season/outlook for next season? “We had a great spring season this year finishing 24-0, along with winning the Inter-ac Invitational Championship. Every player on our team worked very well together, which was a key factor to our success as a whole. My sophomore season we will lose 9 seniors, who were strong leaders and great lacrosse players. However, we have a group of players returning, who have the potential to put together a great team. I have every confidence that we could have the same success that we had last season.”

Additional Comments: “I would like to thank all of my coaches. Coach John McEvoy, Todd MacFarlane (Malvern Prep), Ebe Helm, Jason Christmas, Chris Fallon, and Billy McKinney (Dukes LC). All served as great mentors throughout my recruiting process. I would also like to thank my family for being so supportive of my decision.”

Other schools considered: Duke University, University of Pennsylvania
