Salesianum School sophomore midfielder Luke Bianchino has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at Boston University.
Luke Bianchino log:

High school: Salesianum School
Graduation year: 2016
Position: Midfield
College choice: Boston University
Club affiliation: SavannahStrong, SoCo, NXT LC
Major lacrosse honors, camps and showcases: 2013 DIAA State Champion, Freshman Varsity Letter Winner, Under Armour Philadelphia Tryout All-Star, Ohio State Team Camp All-Star, UNC Team Camp All-Star.
What will you major in/study: Undecided
Why did you choose school: “Boston University has a tremendous academic and athletic reputation and is the perfect fit for me both academically and athletically. I have trust in head coach Ryan Polley (Malvern Prep grad) and Coach Ryan Kelleher to uphold the reputation and tradition of Boston University. Being a part of something new also attracted me. The idea of helping to build a new program is very exciting. I immediately loved the campus and the city of Boston. The atmosphere and energy were amazing and made me feel right at home. This made my decision to be a part of BU very easy.”
Outlook for your high school team: “We graduated many strong players, but there is a great group of young players ready to fill the void. We will be led by a very strong 2014 class in the upcoming season. We ended last season ranked 17th nationally and we are hoping to improve our national rank this year. Yet, our ultimate goal is to win our fourth straight state championship in the upcoming season.”
Other comments: “I would like to first and foremost thank my parents for all that they do for me. They have helped me to realize my dreams. I would like to thank my brother for introducing me to the game of lacrosse and pushing me to be a better person and athlete. I would like to thank Coach Harry Sankey and Wilmington Wings youth coach Rick Cobb for dramatically improving my game and teaching me the fundamentals necessary to move forward. I would also like to thank my high school coaches, Salesianum Head Coach Bob Healy and Coach Shawn Plews for teaching me to always put others first and how to make a difference in the lives of others. I would like to thank Head Coach Coach Bob Healy for his guidance and encouragement in this process. Special thanks to all my brothers at Salesianum who have helped me achieve my goal along the way.”
