Perkiomen Valley High School 2015 goalie Harley Marie Barrett has made a commitment to play Division I lacrosse at Coastal Carolina University.

Harley Marie Barrett log:

Haley Barrett
Haley Barrett

High School: Perkiomen Valley High School

Graduation Year: 2015

Position: Goalie

College Choice: Coastal Carolina University

Club Affiliation: Dynamite Lacrosse

Lacrosse Honors: PA National Team, Brine All-American Regional Team, PAC-10 1st Team All-Conference, Elite 120, Syracuse All-Tournament Team

Academic honors, service projects: Highest and Distinguished Honors, and Toys for Tots Coordinator

What will you major in/study? Marine Sciences

Why did you choose Coastal Carolina? “I choose Coastal because I have family that lives in the area, and it was a perfect fit for me.

“Academically, it has the program I wish to further pursue, as well as the environment of the campus and the area was quite captivating. A lot of people said to me that when you walk on to a campus, you will immediately know if it is the right school, and I did.”

Outlook for 2015 HS season? “This year I believe PV will come out strong; we will be working hard in the off-season to better ourselves from last year. We have a good amount of seniors with a lot of experience, and our underclassmen have a lot of spunk and dedication to put towards the team.”

Thank You: “I would like to thank my coaches Kathy Kelley, Tony Montes, and Shelby Iezzi for dealing with me and Devon Fleischmann over the years, because they made me the player and person I am today.

“I want to thank Maureen Burger and Ali Allen for helping me learn the game since day one to where I am today, because I would not be the player I am today without them.

“Also, I would like to thank my teammates and friends at Dynamite and PV. I want to thank Kim and TGB, because they are the best supporters that I could have asked for and have sacrificed so much for me, and I love them so much.

“Finally, I want to thank my sister Frankie, because without her I would have never played lacrosse and found my passion.”

Other schools considered: Boston University, Ohio State University, Temple University
