Longstreth girls’ recruit: Bishop Shanahan 2015 midfielder O’Donnell commits to Virginia Tech

Bishop Shanahan High School junior midfielder Kelci O’Donnell has made a commitment to play Division I lacrosse at Virginia Tech.

Position: Midfield

College Choice: Virginia Tech

Club Affiliation: PA Express

Major lacrosse honors: Starter on Varsity Freshman and Sophomore season, tied for second leading scorer Freshman year and leading scorer Sophomore year. Voted All Ches-Mont Team as a Sophomore. Selected for the US Lacrosse National Showcase Team Philly 2013

What will you major in/study? HNFE (Human Nutrition, Food, and Exercise)

Why did you choose VT? “VT offers a great academic opportunity for what I aspire to focus my future on. In addition, VT has offered me an opportunity to play Women’s lacrosse with some of the best athletes in the country. I am really excited to elevate my game to the next level with the help of Coach (Megan) Burker and her great staff.”

Outlook for your High School team? “I am looking forward to our team learning and developing new lacrosse skills together with our new coaching staff. I am excited to face our upcoming challenges and we are determined as a team to improve our record.”

Additional Comments: “I’d like to thank my parents for their unconditional love and encouragement on and off the field. Without them I would not be where I am today. Thanks to my sister/best friend Erin and brother Sam for cheering me on. Thank you to all of my Coaches for your leadership & guidance making my lacrosse experience so much fun as well as all of my teammates!”
