Jake Shriner log:

Jake Shriner

High School: Caravel Academy, Delaware

Graduation Year: 2015

Position: Midfield/FO

College Choice: Loyola University Maryland

Club Affiliations: Long Island Sting LC, Delaware Silverbacks

Lacrosse Honors: First Team All-State, MVP United States Military Academy Camp, National Face Off Showcase Semi Finalist, MVP Tournament Champs 2015

What will you major in/study? “I plan to major in Political Science as Cadet in the Army Reserve Officers’ Training Corps Program at Loyola.”

Why did you choose Loyola? “Loyola is definitely a place where I can grow not only as a lacrosse player, but as a person. A huge factor in choosing Loyola was the opportunity for me to do ROTC and get a head start on my career as a military Officer while playing college lacrosse for an outstanding program.”

Thoughts on this past season/outlook for next season? “This past season was one of our best at Caravel Academy under our new Coach, Paul McCommons. We had a young team with tremendous talent which allowed our team to advance to the state tournament. Next year we hope to grow even more and advance further in the State tournament.”

Thank You: “I want to thank my family, friends and God for believing and supporting me. Without them I would not be where I am today. I especially want to thank Coach Miller of the Long Island Sting LC for how much he has done to help me, as well as Coach Jerry Ragonese, Coach Greg Gurenlian and Coach Chris Mattes of the Face Off Academy.

“I also want to thank Mike Brailovsky of UD lacrosse, as well Coach McCommons (Caravel Academy) for pushing me to keep working hard everyday. I also want to thank all my coaches and teammates of the Delaware Silverbacks, as well the Faceoff Factory for helping me get to the next level.

“I’m definitely blessed with a lot of support, and I thank everyone for all they have done for me.”
