Boys’ lacrosse: Penncrest finishes undefeated Central League season with 11-9 win over Conestoga

Alex Bonnett and Ethan Trusty scored goal a minute and two seconds apart midway through the final period tonight as Penncrest defeated host Conestoga, 11-9, to finish a perfect Central League championship season

The Lions finished the league season at 11-0 and are 17-0 overall. They close their season Friday against Downingtown East.

Conestoga (10-6, 7-4) tied the game at 9-9 when Bonnett scored off a fastbreak from a Dylan Protesto (17 of 24) win at the X with 6:08 to play.

Will Manganiello scored four goals to unofficially set a school record for goals. Bonnett had two goals and two assists and Trusty scored twice while Robert Logan had some key takeaways. Dylan McCleaft made nine saves.

For Conestoga, Luke Taicher and Steven Hildebrand each had two goals.
