Wednesday’s Delaware HS boys’, girls’ roundup: Salesianum School tops La Costa Canyon (CA)

Troy Reeder scored five goals to spark host Salesianum School to a 12-5 victory Wednesday over California power La Costa Canyon.

Sean Giampietro dished off four assists for the Sals (4-2) and Sam Fink had two goals and two assists while Jay Kelly had two goals and an assist, Bailey Martin had a goal and an assist and Craig Zebrowski scored once. Ryan Kern made 10 saves.

La Costa Canyon (7-2) is the defending San Diego region champion.

Boys Lacrosse
Appoquimink 16, Glasgow 0

Four goals by John Dunbar, and 2 each by Jamie Ravitz, Michael Frenze and Matthew Frink paced the Jags of Appoquimink High to a 16-0 win over Glasgow.

Archmere 16, Brandywine 4

Six goals by Colin Duffy, 3 by George Salmons, and 2 each by Benjamin Revak and Daniel Ehrlichman paced the Auks of Archmere to a 16-4 win over the Bulldogs of Brandywine. Thomas Lengel led the Bulldogs with 4 goals.

Cape Henlopen 18, Smyrna 1

Five goals by Blake Mann, 4 by Michael Hopkins, 3 by Todd Keen and John Benson paced the Vikings of Cape Henlopen to a 18-1 win over Smyrna.

Concord 12, Hodgson 9

Five goals by Kevin Louie, 2 by Hasani Wilmer and Darian Chan paced the Raiders of Concord to a 12-9 win over the Hodgson Silver Eagles. For the Silver Eagles, Sebastian Sciarrino led with 3 followed by teammate Steven Davis and Cory Melvin each with 2.

Polytech 15, Delmar 3

Three goals by Darnell Jones, Tim Beckman, Ian Lineweaver and Connor Slatcher paced the Panthers of Polytech to a 15-3 win over Delmar.

Delaware Military Academy 17, Red Lion Christian 3

Four goals by Matthew McGovern, 3 by Matt Higgins, and 2 each by Michael Wolfe and Paul Weaver Hunter Coho, Nathaniel Gemmato and Justin paced the Seahawks of Delaware Military Academy to a 17-3 win over Red Lion Christian.

Sussex Central 9, Delmarva Christian 8

Three goals by Craig Rahn and 2 by Robert Cognetta paced the Sussex Central Golden Knights to a 9-8 overtime win over the Royals of Delmarva Christian. For Delmarva Christian, Samuel Schlegal led with 3 goals and Tyler Menoche had 2.

Charter School 9, Middletown 8

Four goals by Thomas Walker, and 2 each by Austin Kearns and Samuel Song paced Charter School to a 9-8 win over the Cavaliers of Middletown. For the Cavs, Joshua Leach led with 3 goals followed by Dylan Suarez with 2.

Indian River 20, Gunston Day School 9

Four goals each by Timothy Roberts and Kees Elling follow by Spencer Murray with 3 goals along with 2 each by Merrick Kovatch, Benjamin Gonski, Tanner Dudley and Jason Watts paced the Indians of Indian River to a 20-9 win over Gunston Day School.

Hun School (NJ) 12, Tower Hill School 10

Five goals by Andrew Petit, 3 by Benjamin Watson and 2 by William Mette were not enough to help Hillers of Tower Hill School in their loss to the The Hun School.

Pencader Charter 10, McKean 1

Eight goals by Thomas Warrick paced Pencader Charter to a 10-1 win over McKean.

Girls Lacrosse
Tower Hill 15, The Hun School (NJ) 10

Five goals by Jenna Chodos, 3 by Meaghan Cobb, 2 by Kiva Walsh paced the Lady Hillers of Tower Hill to a 15-10 win over The Hun School of New Jersey.

Appoquimink 19, Glasgow 5

Five goals by Morgan Ludlam, 4 by Delaney Chrisco and Delaney Marvel, and 2 by Briana Doyle paced the Lady Jaguars of Appoquimink to a 19-5 win over the Lady Dragons of Glasgow. For the Lady Dragons, Taylor Griggs led with 3 goals.

Charter 10, Middletown 7

Three goals each by Jordan Wood and Morgan Lamey, two each by Lexi Mash and Emily Ritter paced the Lady Force of Charter to a 10-7 win over the Lady Cavaliers of Middletown. For the Lady Cavs, Emily Pantazes, Katherine Thompson and Kristen Rossi each had 2.

Cape Henlopen 18, St. Mark’s 4

Anna Frederick’s 5 goal performance along with 4 by Sara Young, 2 each by Karalyn Joseph, Kat Judge, Sarah Tappan and Lexi Woodruff paced the Lady Vikings of Cape Henlopen to a 18-4 win over the Lady Spartans of St. Marks. For the Lady Spartans, Haley Schweizer led with 4 goals.

Concord 17, Christiana 1

Two goals by Chelsea White and Rachael Jennally paced the Lady Raiders of Concord to a 17-1 win over the Christiana Vikings.
