From Press Release

Cindy Wilson, head women’s lacrosse coach at The University of Scranton, has announced that senior midfielder Jilliana DePaolera (Kinnelon, NJ/Kinnelon), senior attacker Kaitlin Lazorko (Philadelphia, Pa./Nazareth Academy), and senior goalkeeper Kathleen Smart (Hatboro, Pa./Archbishop Wood) will serve as captains for the upcoming 2013 season.

DePaolera is a three-year starter who has earned all-Landmark Conference honors twice in her career (1st team in 2012, 2nd team in 2011). She enters her senior year eighth in total points (127), assists (47), and draw controls (92); 14th in goals (80); 18th in shot attempts (176); and 20th in ground balls (96) in Royals’ history. She has also scored five game-winning goals in her career.

Lazorko has appeared in 43 games over the past three seasons and has started 33 times. During this span, she has recorded 30 goals and 44 assists for 74 total points. She is currently ninth all-time in Scranton history in assists.

Smart, who has started 39 of 46 games over the past three seasons, is also ranked among Scranton’s all-time leaders. She is currently tied for second in wins (21) and saves per game (7.15) and third in total saves (329), save percentage (.461), and goals against average (10.89) in Royals’ history.

Wilson will make her head coaching debut with the Royals on Saturday, March 2, against Haverford College beginning at 3:00 p.m. at Fitzpatrick Field. She is the fourth head coach in the program’s 13-year history. A 2009 graduate of Susquehanna University, Wilson spent the past three seasons as an assistant women’s lacrosse coach at Muhlenberg College in Allentown.
