Wissahickon High School senior defenseman Ben La Rue has made a commitment to play Division III lacrosse at Arcadia University.

Why did you choose Arcadia? “Arcadia is a school that focuses heavily on its academic standards while putting an equal amount of energy into its athletics. Many of the facilities at the school are either new or are in the process of being renovated. For me, a high academic & sport standard combined with a beautiful campus makes for a desirable college. And when I sat down to think of all the variables I realized that Arcadia is the school for me.”
Outlook for your High School team? “Like every team, we want to win every game, or as many as possible. Taking into account that many starters are returning from last year, I think we’re going to have a tremendous season. Nobody is complacent. Every guy on our team knows that we’re not going to roll over our competition; we’ve been working hard. We know we have the pieces in place for a great year, we just need to keep working hard. I think if we continue, we’ll see the results we want in May.”
Additional Comments: “Without the support of my Mom and Dad this past summer I likely wouldn’t be where I am now.
“Coach Walsh has seen me through thick and thin, from 9th grade JV to now, and has helped me become better the whole way. Same goes for coach Layfield and Conway. They’ve guided me to where I am now in my play, and as a person.”
