St. Augustine Prep (NJ) junior midfielder John Fox has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at Fairfield University.

John Fox

High School: St. Augustine Prep

Graduation Year: 2015

Position: Midfield

College Choice: Fairfield University

Club Affiliation: SouthShore Lacrosse

Lacrosse Honors: MVP Delaware All-Star, Jake Reed’s Nike Blue Chip Rising Sophomore and Rising Junior

What will you major in/study? Business/Economics

Why did you choose Fairfield? “Fairfield is a serious contender for the National Championship under Coach (Andy) Copelan and the rest of their great coaching staff. The university is well known for its academics and business school, and is in a great area. I knew Fairfield was the right fit for me after my visit.”

What are your thoughts on this past HS lacrosse season/team’s outlook for next season? “Last year we had a very young team, and a young offense. We won some big games in a tough schedule, but suffered a loss to Seton Hall Prep in the playoffs. This year we return many of our starters who have a ton of talent, and look to achieve our State Championship goal as a program.”

Additional Comments: “I’d like to thank my parents for all the work they’ve put in with me. I’d also like to thank Coach Valore for everything he has done for me, and growing me a better person and player. Finally, I’d like to thank Fairfield Men’s Lacrosse Program for welcoming me into the University and program.”

Other schools considered: Richmond, Colgate, Rutgers
