Perkiomen Valley senior midfielder Shawn Dickey has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at the University of Massachusetts-Lowell.
Shawn Dickey log:
High School: Perkiomen Valley
Graduation Year: 2014
Position: Midfield
College Choice: UMass Lowell
Club Affiliation: Black Bear Lax
Major lacrosse honors: 1st Team All-PAC 10-Junior, 2nd Team All-PAC 10-Sophomore
What will you major in/study? Civil Engineering
Why did you choose UMass-Lowell? “It is a medium sized College in a smaller town with a city feel. I will be apart of a new team and be a leader right away and that’s something that interested me greatly. Coach (Ed) Stephenson and Coach (Matt) Schairer are great guys and I look forward to playing for them. They made me feel welcomed and showed me everything Lowell had to offer me.”
What is your HS team’s outlook for next season? “We are returning a lot of our seniors and have set goals for our team in the long run. Coach Churchey has been working hard with us. We plan to make a run to the playoffs and hopefully win the PAC-10.”
Additional Comments: “I would like to thank my family for taking me to all my tournaments/games etc and all their support.
“I would like to thank My head coach Bryan Churchey for all he has done and helped me with, along with Coach Chris Defeo, Coach Larry Mo, Coach Steve Kurylo, and Coach Anthony Tornetta. As well as my club coach, Coach Bob Allvord.
“Everyone has helped me in their own way and I thank everyone for that.”
