Scott R. McGrath log:

Scott McGrath

Scott McGrath

High School: Northeast High School

Graduation Year: 2013

Position: Goalie

College Choice: Chestnut Hill College

Club Affiliation: Bucks Select, LEAPS

Major lacrosse honors: 1st Team All Public 2012, 2013.

What will you major in/study? Computer Science

Why did you choose the school? “I choose Chestnut Hill because of the small community that I think will benefit me in the classroom. I first heard of Chestnut Hill and first met coach (Brian) Doughtery at clinic LEAPs held in fall of 2011. Shortly after meeting him I looked into the school more and found it was a perfect fit for me.”

Looking back on the 2013 season: “I couldn’t be anymore proud of my team. We went undefeated in the public league, We won the public league championship, we played La Salle and gave it our all; we lost but we didn’t go down quietly, putting up 5 or 6 goals. We played three Catholic teams who everyone always said would crush us and we won one and made the other two really close games. We did amazing for being a team full of players new to the sport. We accomplished a lot this season.”

Other comments: “I’d like to thank my parents for supporting me and helping me get to where I am now, without their support who knows if i’d even be in college, I’d like to thank my Coaches at Northeast Joesph Blee, Kieran Ragan, and Veasna Kim for working with me in the sport of lacrosse and allowing me to advance in the sport. I’d like to thank Jeff Bruemmer and Pete Chiappetta my coaches from Bucks Select. Also I’d like to thank Eric Gregg from LEAPs for all the opportunities he and the LEAPS organization has given me, with out them I would not be nearly the lacrosse player or the person I am today. Finally I’d like to thank Frank Kerwood for all the time he put in at Northeast and with LEAPS teaching the sport of lacrosse and really helping me find my way through lacrosse. He has been very influential in my success thus far.

Other schools considered? Drexel, York.
