Ryan Hilburn log:

Ryan Hilburn

High School: Malvern Prep

Graduation Year: 2014

Position: Attack

College Choice: Boston University

Club Affiliations: Man Up, Dukes Lacrosse Club and Old School

Major lacrosse honors, All-Star teams, Camps, Showcases: 1st Team All Inter-Ac (Junior Year), King of the Hill All-Star, Hotbeds All-Star, and UNC Team Camp All-Star

Academic honors, service projects: 2nd Honors Sophomore Year and 1st Honors Junior Year. Hurricane Sandy Relief in Long Beach Island, NJ.

What will you major in/study? Business

Why did you choose BU? “I choose Boston University because I fell in love with the school and the campus as soon as I arrived. I feel that it is a perfect fit for me academically. I have always wanted to be part of something new and BU’s lacrosse program will allow me that opportunity. I will be apart of building something great right from the start. Coach (Ryan) Polley (Malvern Prep grad) and Coach (Drew) Kelleher made me feel right at home immediately and made my decision extremely easy.”

What is your HS team’s outlook for next season? “Everybody is already counting us out. We lost a lot of seniors that will be hard to replace both on and off the field, but we also have some very good underclassmen that stepped up this past season in a big way.”

Additional Comments: “I’d like to thank my family for always being there for me and being my biggest fans. My Malvern Coaches John McEvoy, Todd MacFarlane and Matt Mackrides for helping me through this process and making me be a better lacrosse player and a better human being. Many thanks to my Man Up Coach Jim Schorn for being by my side throughout my career through the ups and downs not just as a coach, but also as a friend. I would also like to thank my Dukes Coaches Ebe Helm, Jason Christmas and Mike Mackrides.”

Other schools considered: Drexel, Penn, Lafayette, Quinnipiac
