Why did you choose St. John’s? “There are many reasons why I chose St. John’s University. Even though I love Chestnut Hill Academy’s small community, which allows for an exceptional education, I want to be a part of a large and diverse university for my college experience. As long as I can remember I envisioned myself living in or near a large city. St. John’s proximity to New York was a major selling point. I also wanted a school that was close enough for my parents and brother to watch me play. The campus atmosphere and the updated dorms and buildings also impressed me.”
Outlook for your high school team? “Chestnut Hill Academy plays in the Inter-Ac, which is a very competitive league. This year CHA will play some of the most talented teams in the area. Our team is excited for the challenge in the upcoming 2013 spring season. The team is working hard in the off-season to prepare and Coach (Mike) DelGrande is pushing each of one of us to improve in all aspects of the game.”
Additional comments: “When I look back to the first days of playing lacrosse I realize the sacrifices others have made for players like me. So many coaches give up their time and energy to coach youth lacrosse; to instill the love of the game. I would like to thank Coach Harry Kleintz and Coach Dan Cameron (HLC) for inspiring me to play with dedication and integrity. I would also like to thank Coach Jim Drake and the Twist organization. Finally I would like to thank Coach Mike DelGrande for his constant support in my game and his assistance in the recruiting process.
“A special thank you to my Mom, Dad and brother Nick for all their support throughout the years. I appreciate all the sacrifices they have made on my behalf. I am looking forward to playing on the same field along side my brother Nick for the next two seasons.
“Lacrosse has allowed me to make friends for a lifetime. Some of the friends will now become opponents but will always be friends for a lifetime.”
