Bridgewater-Raritan High School (NJ) junior attackman Griffin Figel has made a commitment to play Division I lacrosse at Monmouth University.

Major lacrosse honors: Freshman Year – 2011/2012 – BRHS Varsity Lacrosse, Somerset County Champions, Group IV State Champions (NJ), NJSIAA Tournament of Champions/Champions, Selected to participate in Top 205 Camp – Summer 2012

Sophomore Year – 2012/2013 – BRHS Varsity Lacrosse, Starting Attackman – 29 Goals, 24 Assists, All Freshman/Sophomore, All Somerset County – 1st Team, Skyland Conference – 2nd Team, All Somerset County – 3rd Team, All Area Honorable Mention, Group IV All State Honorable Mention, Selected to participate in Nike Blue Chip Camp – Summer 2013

What will you major in/study? Education

Why did you choose Monmouth? “After seeing different schools, I felt that Monmouth was the right fit for me. I was really impressed with the entire Lacrosse program, especially the coaches. Also, Monmouth has an outstanding education program, and that is my intended major.”

Outlook for your High School team? “The Bridgewater-Raritan High School team should do great this year. We have the best coaching staff in the state. With all the young players in our program Coach Apel will lead us to a successful season. We have been working hard in the off season, and are prepared to continue that hard work when the season begins on March 1st.”
