After falling behind 2-0 in the first game Mesa Fresh battled back against a tough Annapolis MD based API squad, winning 6-5. In the second game Mesa took on the Patriots from North New Jersey, winning 8-1, before finishing the day with a 13-1 victory over Baltimore based Greene Turtle.

Luke McCallion led the scoring with five goals, followed by John Nostrant with four, and Ryan Brown tallied three. Doug Jones and Joel Trucksess along with McCallion dominated face offs all day, going 31-7. Playing with their trademark team philosophy, Mesa Fresh had 11 different players score on the day and 23 of the 28 goals were assisted.

“It was pretty cold and windy but we just tried to focus on the game and support each other,” said defenseman Zack Kaut. “We were happy to get the wins.”

Attackman Ryan Brown added, “Our coaches make sure we play as a team and so far it has been really fun.”

Mesa Fresh 2017 is coached by John Nostrant, Bill Holmes, and Chris Aitken.
