Caroline Mackrides

High school: Villa Maria Academy

Graduation year: 2015

Position: Midfield/Defense

College choice: Ohio State

Club affiliation: Phantastix Purple

Major lacrosse honors: Varsity Starter (2012,2013), National Tournament Philly Team 1 2012

What will you major in/study: Nursing/Medical

Why did you choose school: “I chose Ohio State because it fulfilled many of my must haves when I visiting different schools. The athletic atmosphere was very important to me as well as the academics. Ohio State has a hospital on campus that I will be frequenting with my medical-related major. Ohio State has a lot to offer and I am so excited to be a part of the University.”

Outlook for your high school team: “We have a lot of talent. With practice and concentration we will go very far. We definitely have the ability to play with the best and we will show it this upcoming season.”

Other comments: “I would like to first thank all of my coaches. My Phantastix coaches, Mrs Frazier, Miss Yusko, and Mrs. Cross, as well as my school coach Mrs Lamay. Without their help I would never have been able to recognize my ability and strive to make myself better. I would also like to thank my Mom for traveling with me to different schools and helping me through this process. Lastly, I would like to thank my sister Kyrstin, who spends time playing with me in the yard helping me to sharpen my skills and also helping me to realize what it takes to be a successful lacrosse player.”
