Unionville junior attack-midfielder Rachel Hughes has made a commitment to play Division I lacrosse at Duquesne University.

Why did you choose Duquesne? “I absolutely loved everything about Duquesne. I fell in love with the atmosphere when I visited the campus. I also enjoyed the city of Pittsburgh and how close everything was. The school’s academics were a great fit for me and the girls on the team were very welcoming. I respect the coaching staff and am very excited for the future of their lacrosse program!”
What is your HS team’s outlook for the season? “I am really excited for the upcoming season. We are a young team and we lost a lot of seniors last year, but we also have a lot of great younger players stepping up. I think we will do well and I am excited to see how the season plays out!”
Additional Comments: “I would like to thank Coach Kevin Ryan, Coach Parsons, and Coach Landry for making the past 7 years of lacrosse so enjoyable. I also love my parents for traveling all over to watch me play and for always supporting and encouraging me. My teammates have always been there for me and have given me some of my best memories.
