Samantha Walters

High School: Spring-Ford High School

Graduation Year: 2015

Position: Goalie

College Choice: UMass Amherst

Club Affiliation: Phantastix Lacrosse–Purple 2015

Major lacrosse honors: Bill Pilat’s All-Star, National Team-Philadelphia, Maximum Exposure, Top 215, Super Sophs

What will you major in/study? Undecided, The Sciences/Medicine

Why did you choose UMass Amherst? “The atmosphere was exactly what I was looking for in a school. The moment I stepped on campus I knew it was the right place for me. UMass has a strong lacrosse program and is academically challenging–both things I was looking for in a college. The coaches and girls made me feel right at home. I’m very excited to be attending UMass. I know I will grow both as a player and as a student.”

What is your team’s outlook for next season? “We graduated a lot of seniors that were key players last year, but we have a lot of talent that will step up. I feel that we have the potential to go far.”

Additional Comments: “The most important people throughout this entire process were my parents, their love and support was crucial. I would also like to thank the entire Phantastix lacrosse coaching staff. I would especially like to thank Coach Pops, Monica Johnson, Gwen Hicks, Mrs. Frazier, & Miss Yusko.

“There are so many people that helped make me as the player that I am today, it would be impossible to name everyone!”

Other schools considered: Navy, Towson, Jacksonville, JMU, Fairfield, High Point
