Princeton High junior midfielder Elizabeth Jacobs (Ultimate Lacrosse club) has committed to the admissions process at Dartmouth College.

Elizabeth Jacobs log:

Elizabeth Jacobs

High School: Princeton High School

Graduation Year: 2014

Position: Center/Midfield

College Choice: Dartmouth College

Club Affiliation: Ultimate Pennsylvania 2014 Blue

Major lacrosse honors: 2 time member of NJ South Women’s Division National Tournament Team (Schoolgirl team), Brine National Lacrosse Classic Team (NJ), Under Armour Pennsylvania Team

Academic honors, service:
Special Sports volunteer

What will you major in/study? Business or Psychology

Why did you choose the school?
“Dartmouth is an amazing place that I’m truly honored to have the opportunity to attend. Coach (Amy) Patton (Unionville grad) has an established program that has been very successful over the years, and I’m so excited to play for such a well respected coach.

“The combination of outstanding academics and athletics was my primary focus in looking at colleges, and I know I chose the right school for me. Everyone was so welcoming and seemed truly excited to be at Dartmouth-both as students and athletes. From the first meeting with Coach Patton, I felt a connection both to her and the school. I particularly liked her philosophy of each players having to earn a jersey for each game which emphasized the team’s strong work ethic. I can’t wait to go back for summer camp and play with my future teammates!”

What is your HS team’s outlook for 2013 season? “This year, we have a new coach who we’re all really excited about. We lost a few key seniors last year, but we have some phenomenal athletes on our team. Last year we made it to the semi-finals of states, and we’re hoping to do even better this year.”

Other comments: “First, I would really like to thank my Ultimate team. We’re very close off the field and that closeness translated into a great amount of trust on the field. Each game this summer we were playing for each other and I think that was evident to everyone watching. It was an amazing group, and probably the most inspired team I’ve ever played with.

“Of course, Michele DeJuliis runs an amazing program at Ultimate Lacrosse and she was a great advocate for me and I cannot thank her enough for her support in all the years I have known her. I’d also like to thank my Ultimate coach, Coach Duck (Jen Duckenfield). She was instrumental in helping me grow as a player this summer and pushed me to play my best; playing for her made me remember how much I love the game.

“Finally I’d like to thank my Mom. For these past few years, she has spent an endless amount of time with me, taking me all over the United States, supporting me. It may not have been easy all the time, but she was there for me every step of the way. I’m so happy that she can finally see the result of all of her hard work to get me where I am today.”

Other schools considered? Princeton, Cal Berkeley, Stanford
