Garnet Valley junior defender Katie Stec has made a commitment to play Division I lacrosse at La Salle University.
High School: Garnet Valley High School
Graduation Year: 2014
Position: Defense
College Choice: La Salle University
Club Affiliation: Brandywine Majors
Academic honors, service projects: Honor Roll, DECA state winner
What will you major in/study? Business/Science/Technology
Why did you choose La Salle? “Someone told me that when I stepped on the right campus, I would know and that is what happened as soon as I got to La Salle. I fit right in with the team, coaches, and Univeristy. I know that I will receive an excellent education and be able to pursue my goal of becoming a pharmaceutical representative and play Division 1 lacrosse.”
What is your HS team’s outlook for the season? “I’m new to Garnet Valley this year and was excited to become a Jaguar. I thought it would be difficult to transfer to the two-time defending State Championship team, but my teammates welcomed me with open arms. We’ve won our last nine games and are looking forward to returning to the playoffs.”
Additional Comments: “I would like to thank my Mom for guiding and encouraging me. I couldn’t have achieved any of this without my club team, Brandywine Majors, and the best coach ever, Donna Coyne. There are not enough words to express my gratitude, and how much I appreciate everything she has done for me.”
