Mariel Haubrich

High School: Eastern Regional High School

Graduation Year: 2013

Position: Midfield

College Choice: Stevens Institute of Technology

Club Affiliation: South Jersey Select

Major lacrosse honors: 4-year varsity starter

What will you major in/study? Business Administration and Cybersecurity

Why did you choose Stevens? “Stevens was a great fit for me. I have visited the campus many times (my brother plays for the Stevens men’s lacrosse team) met many lacrosse team members, and had a lot of discussions with the coaching staff Coach (Celine) Cunningham and (Kate) Robinson. The location of the school is great and not to far from my home and family. The team is very competitive, as am I, and I am hoping to contribute to take them to the next level quickly.”

Outlook for your High School team? “My high school team had a great season last year which we hope to build on this year. Last year, although we lost in the first round of the playoffs, I know we have potential to go further this season, as we have a large part of our team returning this year. I have played with my teammates for years; we click and we have a ton fun playing lacrosse together.”

Additional Comments: “I would like to thank: my coaches, Coach Larkin, who taught me the fundamentals and introduced my love for the game at a young age, Coach Schlesinger, Coach Lauren, Coach Knobloch and Coach Cunningham, teachers, teammates, and my family for supporting me throughout my entire high school career.

“A special thanks to my Mom and Dad for driving me all over the east coast to compete at the highest level and for pushing me to challenge myself as a person and a player every day. And to my brother: thanks for suggesting looking at Stevens and for always wanting to make me a better player and supporting me throughout it all.”
