Marie McCool erupted for seven goals as host Moorestown defeated Conestoga, 15-10, today in a battle of top-ranked girls’ lacrosse teams.
The Quakers, ranked No. 1 by Phillylacrosse.com and No 3 in the nation by TopLaxRecruits.com, improved to 17-0 while Conestoga fell to 14-4. The Pioneers are ranked No. 5 by Phillylacrosse.com.
The Quakers trailed, 5-2, midway through the first half and 7-6 at the intermission. But McCool took over in the second half with five of her tallies and got help from Kierstyn Voiro (two goals, one assist) and Jess Dadino (two goals). Megan Kelly (four groundballs, four caused turnovers) led the defense.
Meghan McGillis paced Conestoga with three goals and two assists and Blake Hamblett added two goals.
