Wissahickon senior midfielder Laura Frankenfield has been named as the Philadelphia region’s Jackie Pitts Award winner by US Lacrosse.

According to US Lacrosse, “This award recognizes a graduating senior in each chapter who truly honors the game of lacrosse, is invested in the development of the game in her community, is an exceptional player who continually strives to improve her game, and is an exemplary member of her team. She exemplifies the spirit of the game, on and off the field. Academically, she is an outstanding student and a valued role model in her school.”

Frankenfield established a school career record for goals this year with 284 (131 career assists for 415 points) and had 82 goals (33 assists) this season. She was named US Lacrosse Honorable Mention All-American (second straight year) and Academic All-American (second straight year) and First Team Suburban One American Conference (fourth straight year).

Her academic honors include being on the HS Honor Roll every quarter and finishing with a GPA of 4.14 (weighted). Frankenfield’s community service projects included: Team Leader, Pink Hair for Hope Campaign (Community Fundraising Campaign for The American Cancer Society); and Club Leader, Wissahickon FANS. She also was an honoree of the Pansini & Mezrow Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll.
