Staff Report

A former Lansdale Catholic boys’ lacrosse coach has been sentenced to jail for making false accusations of sexual misconduct against two coaches.

Timothy A. Udinski, 44, of Doylestown Township, today was sentenced to a minimum of 30 days and up to 23 months in the Montgomery County prison.

Udinski, who also was President-elect of the Philadelphia lacrosse Association at the time of the arrest, had entered a no-contest plea to charges of stalking and harassment in April. He will begin serving his sentence this weekend and serve two weekend days for at least 15 weeks. He also will serve an additional one-year probation sentence after he completes his parole.

“Your conduct was quite outrageous,” said Judge William R. Carpenter, according to an article in the Doylestown Intelligencer. “False allegations like this will never go away in this modern world of electronics and technology.”

Udinski was a long-time PLA board member and served as long-time President of the Southeastern Pennsylvania Youth Lacrosse Association. He also is the co-founder of the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel youth lacrosse program, and was a board member of a Philly club program. He also refereed boys’ lacrosse.

In 2011 Udinski served as boys’ lacrosse coach at Lansdale Catholic. He was dismissed after one season after he also was falsely accused of improper conduct with players. Authorities have alleged that to get back at the school for firing him he sent seven vicious e-mails to the Philadelphia Archdiocese.

In these e-mails, long-time Lansdale Catholic football coach Jim Algeo had sexually solicited a player. Algeo retired following the 2011 season after 293 wins, a state title and 44 years as head coach.

Authorities also alleged that Udinski sent e-mails claiming, Nick Pison, his replacement as lacrosse coach for the 2012 season, had sexually assaulted students. Udinski also accused the Lansdale Catholic principal of failing to take any action regarding the alleged misconduct, according to reports.
