Robert Raucci had three goals and four assists and tallied his 100th career goal as host Garnet Valley claimed a 13-2 Central League win Thursday over Marple Newtown.
Before the game 13 Jaguar seniors were honored. Raucci capped the special day with his final tally in the fourth period to hit the mark, with an assist from Christian Lee.
“It is a great feeling,” Raucci said. “I am relieved to get the pressure off. I was cutting off guard; that is what I do. I am an off ball player.”
Mike Lanham (9 of 10) and Zach Penfil (5 of 7) helped the Jags (8-4 overall, 6-2 in the league) dominate at the face-off X and rebound nicely from a 7-3 loss Tuesday to Ridley that pushed them one game out of first place.
“We had to put that game behind us,” Raucci said. “We are improving every day and we go forward and take it from there.
“Our next opponent is at the Katie Samson Lax Festival at Radnor where we play St. Augustine’s of New Jersey. It should be a good test for us.”
Tyler Kostack led Marple Newtown (5-8, 1-8) with two goals.
