Both teams closed 8-2 in the Ches-Mont to tie with Downingtown East for the crown. A fourth team, Bishop Shanahan (7-2), can make it a four-way tie for the crown Friday by winning at Kennett (6-3) after topping West Chester East, 12-5 Thursday.

Joey Malone scored two goals to lead a balanced Avon Grove (14-3) attack in its win. Ryan Cook and Bryce Reid each added a goal and two assists while Beau Kush, Matt King, Johnny and Eric Russo each scored once and Tanner Pech dished three assists.

Will Schreiner had eight saves in goal for the Devils.

Great Valley (13-4) bolted to an 11-0 halftime lead in its win as Timmy Lamb scored three goals while Greg Merrill, Ethan Joseph and Tyler Haines each had a pair. The Patriots won their last eight Ches-Mont games after dropping their first two to Downingtown East and Downingtown West.
