Brendan Jacob log:

Brendan Jacob
Brendan Jacob

High school: The Haverford School

Graduation year: 2015

Position: Midfield

College choice:
The United States Naval Academy

Club affiliation:
Mesa Fresh Lacrosse

Major lacrosse honors:
Inter-Ac Invitational Champions, Under Armour Shootout champions, Penn Star U15, 2012 Dick’s Sporting National Champions

What will you major in/study: Mechanical Engineering

Why did you choose school: “Attending a service academy has always been in the back of my head. My freshman year The Haverford School lacrosse team went on a tour of the campus, and ever since then I have wanted to be a part of this community. After my first visit with the coaching staff, Coach (Rick) Sowell, Coach (Ryan) Wellner, and Coach (J.L.) Repper, I knew Navy was the right fit for me. They spoke about the limitless opportunities you have upon graduating and the honor that goes along with attending the academy and being a part of the lacrosse team.”

Outlook for your high school team: “We should be very good this season. We have a large amount of starters returning and have most of the team back. We will still have to continue to work hard during the off season because our schedule is very tough. We will hopefully take one of the top teams in the nation once again.”

Other comments: “Thanks to my Haverford coaches, Coach (John) Nostrant, Coach (Mark) Petrone, Coach (Travis) Loving and Coach (Paul) O’Grady, for teaching and supporting me throughout the years.

“I also want to thank my Mesa coaches Coach (Peter) Rohr, Cach (Mark) Aitken and Coach (Brad) Ament, for pushing me to be a better player both on and off the field.

“I would Like to thank all of my Springfield A.A. coaches who taught me the fundamentals of lacrosse and really got me into the game.

“Finally, I would like to thank my family for everything they have done for me and the sacrifices they have made to get me to where I am today.
