Episcopal Academy senior LSM-defenseman Drew DeBacco has made a commitment to play Division I lacrosse at Franklin and Marshall College.

Drew DeBacco log:

Drew DeBacco

High School: Episcopal Academy

Graduation Year: 2014

Position: LSM/Defense

College Choice: Franklin & Marshall College

Club Affiliations: Old School 2014, Freedom, Baggataway 2014

Major lacrosse honors: Boys Philly Showcase, Good 2 Great Camp All-Star, Southern States Elite All-Star

What will you major in/study? Undecided; Potentially business management

Why did you choose F&M? “I was attracted to F&M by its high academic ranking and the opportunity to play lacrosse for a very good team under Coach (Todd) Cavallaro, who clearly has the program headed in the right direction. The school was definitely a great fit for me athletically and academically and I am also looking forward to playing for their ice hockey team as well.”

Outlook for your High School team? “We graduated a tremendous senior class last year filled with great players and role models. It will be very hard to live up to their legacy, however, we have many talented underclassmen looking to step up and a very determined senior class looking to make our own mark on the Inter-Ac. We’re looking forward to opening up with a very tough out of league schedule which will be a great chance to test ourselves before we get into league play.”

Additional Comments: “First off I would like to thank my parents for all of their support and guidance, especially their support when I decided to transition from ice hockey to lacrosse, they have always been my role models.

“Additionally I’d like to thank all my club coaches, notably Bob Miller who sparked my interest in lacrosse and offered me the chance to play for his team.

“Last but not least I’d like to thank all the coaches at Episcopal for all their guidance, especially Head Coach Andy Hayes and defensive coaches Will Gibbs and Todd Fairlie.”
