Haverford School rising senior midfielder Peter Blynn has committed to the admissions process at Harvard University.

Peter Blynn log:Peter Blynn

High School:
Haverford School

Graduation Year: 2014

Position:
Midfielder

College Choice: Harvard University

Club Affiliation: Duke’s L.C., Mesa Fresh 2014

Major lacrosse honors, All-Star teams, Camps, Showcases:

Major lacrosse honors: 1st team All Inter-Ac, 1st Team All-Delco, 1st team All State, Under Armour Underclassmen Team Philadelphia 2x

Major: Economics

Why did you choose the school: “I chose Harvard because of the outstanding academics that it has to offer, as well as its phenomenal location. Boston is my favorite city and I am looking forward to spending four years there and getting to know the city better. Coach (Chris) Wojcik and I also have a very good relationship and I can’t wait to play under him. After my first few visits I knew that I wanted to go to an Ivy League school because of the athletic and academic package it has to offer. When I stepped on Harvard’s campus I knew that was where I wanted to play.”

HS team’s outlook for 2013:
“Last year was a sort of rebuilding year even though we won the Inter-Ac Invitational and ended up ranked No. 15 in the nation, because of how young our team was. Next spring we look to take a huge leap and be one of the top teams in the country.”

Other comments: “I would like to thank my mom and dad, first and foremost, for being there with me through all the plane and car rides; taking me to practice, games, and tournaments and for always supporting me. Also, I would like to thank my brother, Henry, for giving me advice and guiding me through the recruiting process; my brother, Reid, for his constant support and love; and older sister Emily for her encouragement throughout my lacrosse career. Lastly, I would like to thank Coach (John) Nostrant for his guidance and help in the recruiting process; as well as Coach (Travis) Loving for always pushing me to be my best on and off the field; and Coach (Mark) Petrone for his expertise and belief in me as a lacrosse player. I thank Coach Ebe Helm, Coach Jason Christmas, and Coach Peter Scott for their coaching and work in the hot summer months that has made me a better player.”

Other schools considered: Georgetown, North Carolina, Penn, Hopkins, Princeton, Brown, Michigan

Blynn committed to the admissions process last August. All Ivy League student athletes must complete the admissions process.
