Freedom junior midfielder Macey Walker has made a verbal commitment to play Division II lacrosse at Millersville University.

Macey Walker log:

Macey Walker

High School: Freedom High School

Graduation Year: 2014

Position: Midfield

College Choice: Millersville University

Club Affiliation: Lehigh Valley Steam

Major lacrosse honors: 2012 Lehigh Valley Conference All Star & Express Times All-Area Honorable Mention; 2013 Lehigh Valley Conference 1st Team All Star; 2013 Morning Call All-Area 1st Team; 2013 Express Times All-Area 2nd Team.

Academic honors: Honor Roll, National Honor Society

What will you major in/study? “I plan to study Elementary and/or Special Education.”

Why did you choose the school? “I visited plenty of schools, but from the time I stepped foot on the campus I knew Millersville was the place for me. They also have a reputable Education program, which was a major factor in my decision. Once I met Coach (Mia) Hall, Coach (Lauren) Caminiti and the team I definitely knew I was making the right choice.”

What is your HS team’s outlook for next season? “We’re still a young team in that lacrosse is fairly new to Freedom High School. We definitely improved in the win column in 2013 and were much more competitive against some of the stronger teams in the conference. Our goal next year – playoffs!”

Other comments: “I would first like to thank my Mom, Dad and biggest fan, my little brother, Peyton, for their encouragement and support. I also couldn’t have attained any of my on field successes without my coaches, teammates and the Freedom Lacrosse Club Board of Directors and boosters.”
