Notre Dame Academy junior midfielder Courtney Donovan has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at the College of William and Mary.

Academic honors: National Honors Society, Distinguished Honors (2009, 2010, 2011), Forensics State Champion Finalist, National Spanish Exam Silver Medal (2010)
What will you major in/study? Finance Law and Spanish
Why did you choose school? “I chose William and Mary because of its rich historical culture, as well as, strong academic and athletic opportunities. I felt very comfortable when I visited the school because of the welcoming atmosphere. I am really looking forward to playing for Coaches Brooke Ireland and Sarah Mollison. I respect their style of coaching and can’t wait to be a part of the Tribe!”
What is your HS team’s outlook for the season? “I think our team will be very strong this year even though we lost some key players. Our goal is to win the Inter-Ac Title!
Other comments: “I would like to thank my mom, dad, brother, and sister for their support and sense of humor, as well as countless rides to and from practice! I would also like to thank all of my Notre Dame coaches, Erin Cook, Laura Losey, and Nora Moffat for their continued guidance. Another thank you to Karen Borbee and Betsy Glassford, who have been my Brandywine/Haven Youth coaches for the past five years. They not only taught me how to play lacrosse, but how to have fun at the same time. Lastly, I want to thank my Notre Dame and Brandywine Majors teammates for making my lacrosse experience so memorable.”
