From Press Release

Spring Silverman was selected as the first women’s lacrosse coach in Bryn Athyn College history. The team will begin competition in the spring of 2014.

Spring Silverman

A former lacrosse standout at Springfield College in Springfield, Ma., Silverman was a four year starter for the Pride. She finished her career ranked 8th All-Time in total assists (45), and 19th All-Time in total points (106). While at Springfield, she was named First Team All NEWMAC (2005) and Honorable Mention (2004). During her four years with the Pride, they won the NEWMAC and made an appearance in the NCAA Division III tournament in 2002 and 2005.

After graduating from Springfield, Silverman coached at the Agnes Irwin School, Washington Lee High School (Arlington, VA) and the Academy of the New Church.

Director of Athletics, Matthew Kennedy expressed, “Spring’s experiences as an assistant coach combined with her impressive resume as a player at Springfield College makes her a great fit to lead the Bryn Athyn women’s lacrosse program. I feel that she is the perfect candidate to provide our current and future lacrosse student-athletes the coaching, direction, and guidance they need to succeed. We look forward to having her on staff and expect great things moving forward.”

In preparation for the 2014 inaugural season, Silverman will spend the 2012-13 academic year recruiting student-athletes for the program. She plans to begin practices in the fall of 2013.

Silverman graduated from Springfield College with a B.S. in Applied Exercise Science/Strength and Conditioning, and a minor in Athletic Coaching. She currently resides in Bryn Athyn, Pa.
