Tryouts
Philly Girls’ Under Armour Underclassmen Games tryouts, 5-to-8 June 8 at Harriton High. Mount St. Joseph’s Duckenfield will be the Philly girls’ team coach. She will be assisted by George Dick (Harriton) and Caitlin Barbakoff (former head coach at Downingtown East and former UA head coach).

Germantown Friends School Girls Lacrosse Clinic: Girls in Grades 6,7,8. Mondays 6:15-7:45 p.m., February 20 & 27, March 5, 12 and 19 (5 sessions). Germantown Friends School, Scattergood Gym. Each night we will work on stick work, attacking and defensive concepts, and play live lax.

Suburban Lacrosse spring clinics, at Lansdale Catholic High School, for girls in Grades 4-through-9. The clinic will focus on proper techniques for shooting, passing, catching and cradling. It will also include instruction in one on one shooting, agility training, cutting, defensive footwork and positioning, 8-meter shots, and drills to work on alone. Also included will be specialized goalie sessions, advanced and basic stick skills and small sided games. The clinic will teach fundamentals and develop new techniques to enhance the skills necessary for success in lacrosse. Participation is open to all skill levels and players. The clinic will be directed and coached by Jami Wilus Behm, former US Lacrosse Team Member, La Salle University and North Penn Hall of Fame athlete and Mike Wilus, 4 year letter winner at the University of Massachusetts and 2011 New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Senior Scholar Athlete as well as current and former Division I players.

Navy Elite Gold Camp, Annapolis, Md., for rising high school sophomores, juniors and seniors, will be held June 21-23. This challenging camp is designed for the elite lacrosse player who aspires to play lacrosse in college. Showcase Camps
Philly Girls Showcase Camp, July 17-19, at Haverford College, open to players in the graduating classes of 2013, 2014, and 2015. The Camp will be directed by Karin Brower Corbett, Head Coach at Pennsylvania, and co-directed and hosted by Lauren Wray, Head Coach at Haverford College. The Camp will also feature educational seminars off the field on topics including the college recruitment process, NCAA rules, strength training, and nutrition.

Tournaments
The Cardinal Invitational St. Patrick’s Day Classic , March 17, girls’ high school and youth 7th/8th grade and 5th/6th grade lacrosse teams from the tri-state area. Each team is guaranteed a Minimum 2-game, 25-minute running halves. Play Day registration is now closed for high school teams, however space is still available for 7th/8th grade and 5th/6th grade youth teams. This preseason event will take place on two all weather turf fields. This play day is geared toward Township recreation level teams looking to get a start on their season. The event will serve as a great opportunity for girls to play equally matched teams in the Tri-State area. Mad Hatters Lax Invitational, boys’ and girls’ tourneys that feature only JV high school teams. The tournaments will be hosted at Dennis Landis Memorial Park on Lower State Road in North Wales. (Horsham Hawks Football Complex). The boys’ tourney will be held on Saturday, May 12 and the girls’ tourney will be on Sunday, May 13. Click here for coverage of last year’s inaugural boys’ tourney.
These tournaments are open to any HS JV Teams for the 2011 season. Players must be in grades 9-to-11 and be listed on the HS Junior Varsity Roster. Cost is $400.00 per team. The tournaments will be round-robin with a championship game at the end and trophies awarded. Abington Playday Youth tournament, seeks teams, 3rd-through-8th grade. It is held Saturday May 12 at Abington Sr/Jr High campus. At least 80 teams expected to compete; 5th-6th, 7th-8th age classes also include a competitive tournament bracket to go with “scoreless” pool play brackets. . The day also includes food and clothing concession. Food concession is run by and helps fund the Abington High School Girls program. Clothing concession helps fund the Abington Girls Lacrosse Club, the Playday sponsor.

Inaugural Summer Slam Lacrosse Tournament for girls Saturday June 30, Sunday July 1, 2012 at The Westtown School in West Chester, PA. Run by the Pattison Sports Group and NXTsports, the Summer Slam Lacrosse Tournament will host high school and girls’ youth lacrosse teams from across the country. The tournament will consist of six girls’ divisions, three high school divisions and three youth divisions. Each team is guaranteed five games throughout the weekend and teams playing for divisional Summer Slam titles will play to a Championship.
Girls’ Youth Divisions will start Saturday morning with the High School Showcase beginning Saturday afternoon. Both divisions will conclude with championship play on Sunday.
