Tuesday’s boys’ HS wrap, Late Edition: Downingtown East deals Great Valley 1st loss; Shanahan, Avon Grove win

Aaron Murphy scored five goals and Brandyn O’Connell added four goals and three assists while Kevin Clark won 18 of 22 face-offs as host Downingtown East toppled Great Valley, 12-6, Tuesday in a Ches-Mont League boys’ lacrosse game.

The Cougars improved to 3-3 overall and 2-0 in the Ches-Mont. Great Valley fell to 4-1 and 0-1.

Avon Grove 10, WC East 4

Kyle Smith scored three goals and Brendan Fabian added a goal and three assists while Will Schreiner made nine saves to lead the Devils past East.

Bishop Shanahan 10, Unionville 4

Joe McErlean had five goals and John Mehok added four to lead the Eagles to the Ches-Mont win.

David Apruzzese led Unionville with two goals.

Springfield-Delco 8, Strath Haven 5

Mark Gurenlian had three goals and won 12 of 17 face-offs and Vince Marra tallied three goals to pace the Cougars.

Steve Brodeur made 20 saves for the Panthers in defeat.

Penncrest 11, Harriton 6

Sean Mingey had four goals and an assist to lead the Lions to the win.

Zach Fink had two goals and two assists for the Rams.

Central Bucks East 10, Central Bucks West 2

Parker Self led East with two goals and three assists. Chris Vetter and Ethan Debuque each scored twice.

Hatboro-Horsham 9, Pennridge 3

Trevor Dowing had four goals and Pat Downing tallied three to pace the Hatters to the Suburban One Continental win.

Upper Dublin 14, Norristown Area 3

Drew Potts had three goals and two assists and Leighton Young thee goals for the Cards in the American Conference win.

Sean Calhoun scored a pair for Norristown.

Delaware Valley Charter 13, South Philadelphia 3

Thomas Jones had three goals and three assists and Brandon Dodd added three goals and an assist to lead DVC
