This is one of a series of previews for the 2012 Philly lacrosse season

Lenape High School

Coach: Bill Sutphin, 10th season

2011 Record: 10-8, lost second round of state playoffs to Hillsborough, 3rd in our division (6-4 in division play)

Key Returnees: 15 returning varsity letter winners (7 starters returning)

2012 Outlook: “We should be a competitive team this year. We should be in every game. Although we are still young with only 5 seniors, we should be in the hunt for a division title with Eastern and Washington Twp.”

Egg Harbor Township – Eagles

Coach: Brett Hoffecker, 3 years

Last Year’s Record: 11-7

Key Returnees: “ I would describe my returning players as stronger, more disciplined athletes than last year. With the addition of new players comes new talents, and continued training for seasoned players will always serve to strengthen their abilities. Rather than claiming strength, weakness or stagnation, I would say that the mix of different athletic levels serve to make this team different than past years and that their own strengths will be revealed in time.”

Team Strengths/weaknesses: “Strengths: Returning Players, Weaknesses: Our dynamic team structure eliminates weakness.”

2012 Coach’s Outlook: “All of the teams in our division excel, though there is always room for team improvement, no matter how good your team may be. I have the utmost confidence in my team, both new and seasoned players, though I strive to push my players to always achieve new milestones in their athletic careers.”

Lower Cape May Regional High School

Coach: Frank Zilinek, 6th year

2011 Record: 4-13

Returning Players:

Mike Frankenfield – Attack, 2nd team All CAL
Jackson Sole – Midfield
Shawn Wilson – Midfield
Kyle Stillwagon – Midfield
Dylan Essex – Goalie
Mike Plummer – Defense

Newcomers:
Denny Nelson – Attack

Spencer Seer – Defense

2012 Outlook:
“Looking to qualify for state tournament for first time in school history.”
