From Press Release

The second annual Girls Philly Showcase Camp took place last week at Haverford College. Over 120 girls traveled to Haverford to make the event a successful three days of intense lacrosse.

The camp was co-directed by University of Pennsylvania head coach Karin Brower Corbett, Haverford College head coach Lauren Wray, and Girls Programs Director for NXTsports, Elise Wakeland.

The sold out Showcase held at Haverford for the first time, featured players from across the country during the three day span. NXTsports put on the event which was their second successful Showcase Camp this summer following the Boys showcase which was held at St. Joseph’s University in June.

Players had the opportunity to work closely with top-level college coaches, received detailed individual instruction, and showcased their talent. The camp staff included numerous college coaches and players representing universities across the nation.

The Girls Showcase Camp provided the girls with a unique experience to showcase their talent and educate them on what college lacrosse is like. Over the course of the camp the girls participated in games, skill development sessions, an all-star game, in addition to sessions on strength training, nutrition and the recruiting process.

Girls Program Director for NXTsports, Elise Wakeland was pleased with the feedback and success that came from the event.

“Our goal is to provide each player with elite lacrosse education and exposure, and I am pleased that every player had the chance to work one on one with Division I and Division II coaches to both showcase their talent and learn from the very best,” she said.

At the conclusion of the event was the All-Star game between the Blue and White team with the White team prevailing 12-3.
