Maddie Pisani netted the game-winner with 1:36 to play Saturday, helping complete a strong comeback for Harriton in a 13-12 victory over Archbishop Carroll in the 12th annual Katie Samson Lacrosse Festival at Radnor High.
Harriton (12-2) came back from a 10-7 deficit to take a 12-10 lead with the help of three goals by sophomore Katie Melvin (five goals) over 1:42 second stretch. Carroll (8-6) staged a rally of its own to tie it at 12.
Natalie Schmitt led the Patriots (8-6) with five goals, while Rachel Flynn and Kerry Newby each added two goals.
Jess Schwab and Caleigh Foust each added two goals and an assist for the Rams.
Haverford High 20, Agnes Irwin 11
Katrina Geiger collected seven goals and seven assists for the Fords, while Amanda Case and Mairead Janzer each added four goals.
Haverford High senior Caroline Doran (two goals, two assists) was named the second winner of the Katie Samson Inspiration Award. The award is given each year to a player that has overcome adversity; Doran has had a severe hearing impairment since birth and plays with two hearing aids.
Doran has a 4.0 GPA and was an Academic All-American choice last year. She also is a team captain for a squad that is 11-3.
Elizabeth Spitz led Agnes Irwin with three goals and an assist.
Germantown Academy 12, Abington 7
Brooke Kiley scored four goals for GA. Hanna Sjoholm led the Ghosts with three goals.
Upper Dublin 10, Friends’ Central 9
The Cards took a 9-3 halftime lead and held on to defeat the Phoenix.
Taylor D’Ginto scored three goals for UD while Kelly Cross added two goals, three assists and eigth draw controls.
Ashley Tedesco had five goals and two assists for Friends’ Central while Emma Dahle had two goals and an assist.
Unionville 13, Penn Charter 12
Kris Abens tallied five goals for the Indians to spark the win.
Avery Shoemker and Emma Ebert each had three goals for the Quakers.
Penncrest 11, Shipley 9
Christy Bond had six goals and an assist for the Lions.
Avery Safford had three goals and an assist for the Gators.
Methacton 14, Springside School 11
Anna Marie Warrington and Megan Earley each had three goals and an assist for the Warriors in the victory.
Boyertown 22, Baldwin School 11
Rachel Engler topped Boyertown with four goals and Kate Dehaven added three goals and four assists while Lindsay Clinton made 15 saves.
Ali Thaler collected seven goals, three groundballs, seven draw controls and three caused turnovers for Baldwin.
Conestoga 15, Mount St. Joseph 4
Catie Smith had four goals and both Meghan McGillis and Kelly Morrison each had three for the Pioneers.
Emilee Ehret and Olivia Gannon each had two goals for the Mount.
Downingtown East 21, Hill School 7
Haley Nelson pumped in seven goals and McKenzie Rafferty added six goals for the Cougars. Nicole Barretta added two goals and five assists
