2012 Captains: Kristen Bandos ’12, Carlianne McCabe ’12, Tori Sudjian ‘12

2011 Record: 14-5 overall, 10-2 Inter-Ac

Lost to Graduation: MC McDonald (Loyola College), Bree Buysse (Lehigh), Katie Gerzabek (field hockey, University of Maryland)

Key Returnees:
Senior midfielder Kristen Bandos ’12 (Georgetown) Led the team in points and draw controls last year. Was voted First Team All-Inter-Ac 2011 and named the Main Line Athlete of the Week for April 19, 2011.

Senior midfielder Carlianne McCabe ’12, (Lafayette) Led the team in goals and groundballs last year. First Team All-Inter-Ac 2011 and Academic All American 2011

Senior Goalie Tori Sudjian ’12 (Catholic) will be varsity’s starting goalie for her 4th year in a row

Team Strengths:
“Our strength this year is in our senior leadership and our team’s wealth of experience. The upperclassmen have their goal in mind and are leading the team toward achieving that goal. Their example of leadership and confidence is bringing the team together very nicely already and every player knows her role on the field.”

Season Outlook:
“We have an outstanding group of key returners this year. We have leadership both defensively and offensively. This team’s depth of talent and experience will serve us very well in our extremely competitive league and non-league schedule. We have a strong defensive unit, speed in our midfield and several girls who are versatile, proven goal scorers. We look forward to a very exciting season this year as we watch this talented group take shape.”

Baldwin School

Coach: Kathleen Harte Simone, 6 years

Last Year’s Record/Accomplishments: 11-5 overall record (8-4 in the Inter-Ac losing to EA and ND twice), advanced to the semi-finals of PA Independent School Championship

Key Returnees: We return only 5 starters:
Tiffany Hau (Sr) (tri-captain), defense;
Arden Simone (Jr), midfield (2-time All League Second Team)
Karly Wood (Jr) , defense
Nellie Shields (Soph), defense
Ali Thaler (Fr), attack

Outlook for 2012: “We graduated a strong and experienced group so it will be a very different Baldwin team. The girls are competitive and athletic and we should be competitive despite our youth. I anticipate a winning season with a lot of players contributing to our team’s success.”
