NXTsports names interns for summer of 2012

NXTsports is proud to introduce its Summer 2012 group of interns. The 2012 NXT Interns are Theresa Brady (Conestoga HS, PA; Old Dominion University), Scott Chanelli (St. George’s School, RI, Haverford College), Lauren Henwood (Garnet Valley, PA, Iona College), Lindsay Menton (Glenelg Country School, MD, Gettysburg College), and Dana Wilber, (Penn Yan Academy, NY, Drexel University.

The summer 2012 interns will assist with all aspects of the company, including helping to organize and direct NXT’s fast-growing slate of summer lacrosse events, including Trashcan and Cradle Lacrosse Summer Camps, the Philly Boys and Girls Showcase Camps, and the Boys and Girls Summer Slam tournaments which are run as part of the Victory Event Series.

NXT is very proud to have such a talented group joining us for Summer 2012. The interns full bios are below:

Theresa Brady
Theresa is rising junior student-athlete at Old Dominion University, majoring in Spanish and Sports Management while playing for the Women’s Lacrosse Team. Theresa graduated from Conestoga High School (PA) in 2010 where she lettered in field hockey and lacrosse. For her feats on the lacrosse field Theresa received Conestoga’s E. Morgan Kelley Award and was also named All Main-Line in 2009 and 2010. Theresa is excited to be working with NXT through June, after which she heads to San Francisco to work for Study Tours, an English language immersion program for Italian students.

Scott Chanelli
Scott is a rising senior at Haverford College and is a defenseman for the Fords Men’s Lacrosse squad. Scott was named second-team All-Centennial Conference and team MVP for the 2012 campaign. Prior to Haverford Scott attended St. George’s School (R.I), and he resides in Willow Spring, NC. Before joining the NXT team, Scott spent two summers working with the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Economics team in Raleigh, NC.

Lauren Henwood
Lauren attended Garnet Valley High School (PA), where she served as class vice president and captained the girl’s lacrosse team. This fall Lauren will be entering her senior year at Iona College, and is focusing on Public Relations and Political Science for her major. She will be a fourth year defender for the Gaels next spring, and is looking forward to a career in the fields of communication and coaching after graduation. During her downtime, Lauren is often found either touring the Big Apple with her teammates or enjoying a barbeque in the backyard of her sister’s Manayunk home with family and friends.

Lindsay Menton
Lindsay is a rising senior at Gettysburg College, Lindsay attended high school at Glenelg Country School in Ellicott City, MD where she played both field hockey and lacrosse. At Gettysburg, she is a member of the Bullets’ women’s lacrosse team. She was the recipient of the 2011 NCAA Division III Women’s Lacrosse Elite 88 Award and more recently was awarded the Centennial Conference Sportsmanship Award by her team this past spring. Lindsay is majoring in Theories in Politics and Society and is in the Elementary Education Certification Program at Gettysburg.

Dana Wilber
Dana grew up in Penn Yan, New York where he graduated from Penn Yan Academy in 2008 and earned four varsity letters in lacrosse, two in football and one in basketball. Dana then attended Drexel University on a lacrosse scholarship. Dana has just finished his senior year at Drexel and is working towards a degree in Business Administration. As a member of the varsity lacrosse team at Drexel Dana was voted a captain for his junior, 2011, and senior, 2012, seasons as well as being named First-Team All-CAA in 2010 and 2012. In 2012 Dana received the CAA defensive player of the year award and was named a USILA All-American. When Dana isn’t on the lacrosse field he can be found exploring Philadelphia or on the lake in his hometown of Penn Yan.
