New Jersey girls’ Tournament of Champions semifinals: Moorestown advances to meet Chatham in title game

Stephanie Toy had four goals and four assists and Marie McCool tallied four goals as Moorestown toppled Glen Ridge, 14-7, today in the semifinals of the New Jersey Tournament of Champions at Monmouth University.

The Quakers (25-0) shoot for their first T of c title since 2009 when they meet Chatham on Saturday at Kean University at 5 p.m. Chatham’s Hannah Reader made 17 saves as it edged defending champion Ridgewood, 11-10, at Monmouth.

Despite a season high 14 turnovers, Moorestown defeated the Group 1 champions as Amanda Currell had 12 saves.

The Quakers only had a 2-0 lead with less than six minutes to go in the first half, but rallied for three before the break.
