Olivia Gannon had five goals, including the game-winner, and Emily Ehret had a strong all-around game at midfield to lead visiting Mount St. Joseph to a key 7-6 victory over Villa Maria Academy today in the Catholic Academies League.
The Mount improved to 5-1 in the league and 7-2 overall while VMA fell to 4-2 and 4-5.
Ehret collected six groundballs and four draw controls as well as an assist and goalie Alex Lista had 12 saves for the Magic.
Catherine Bendinelli led the Hurricanes with three goals while Maddie McTigue had two goals, two caused turnovers, two groundballs and two draw controls.
Notre Dame 23, Merion Mercy 20
The Fighting Irish stayed undefeated at 6-0 and dealt the Bears their first defeat as Kristen Bandos (10 draw controls) and Nora McCallion each had six goals and two assists and Delaney Tuite had four goals and an assist.
Bonnie McShane had five goals and two assists and Julianne D’Orazio added four goals and two assists for Merion Mercy.
North Penn 17, Central Bucks West 11
Rachel Shaw fired in seven goals for the maidens and Kaitlin Suzuki added five in the National Conference win.
